Research That Benefits Children Everywhere | Shaun's Story

When Shaun was diagnosed with an enlarged heart, his parents moved from Cleveland to Columbus to get him the care he needed at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Diagnosed with heart failure, Shaun's parents knew their baby would need a heart transplant to survive. At Nationwide Children's, his heart team gave him the care and support he needed to survive the wait. When the call finally came that a donor heart was available, Shaun's parents could begin to imagine bringing him home. Today, they can hold him close, hear him laugh and watch him grow – moments they once feared he may never experience outside of the hospital. For Shaun's family, he is their everything. At Nationwide Children's Hospital, Your Everything Is Our Everything. That's why every day of care, every milestone and every moment matter for us.
