What Are the Symptoms of Osgood-Schlatter's Disease?

  • Knee pain typically during activity, occurring in the front of the knee.
  • Knee pain especially with running, jumping, and squatting.
  • Knee pain going up and/or down stairs.

What Can I Do to Feel Better?

  • Rest. Do not do things that cause pain.
  • Ice for 15-20 minutes at a time will help decrease swelling and pain.
  • Light stretching of the quadriceps and hamstrings (muscles on the front and back of thigh).

When Should I See a Medical Professional?

  • If rest, ice, and stretching are not improving the condition.
  • If you are uncertain about the severity of the condition.
