RUBI

ECHO RUBI improves clinicians’ comfort and knowledge with a manualized parent-training program (RUBI), shown to be effective for children with autism and other disabilities. ECHO RUBI is a therapy based program designed to reduce disruptive behavior and improve adaptive behavior in children and offers an excellent opportunity to improve and advance your clinical skills to better serve families with children with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Participants in ECHO RUBI will collaborate with specialists in a case-based learning environment to develop advanced clinical skills and best practices.

Series Participants: 

  • Will learn and utilize RUBI principles with patients and families
  • Many of our ECHO series offer CME/CE credits at no cost to you. For series specific CME/CE information, contact NCHProjectECHO@NationwideChildrens.org.
  • Receive seven hours of professional training

What To Expect

  • Participate in two RUBI Orientation sessions using a virtual platform (two, one-hour sessions)
  • Attend and participate in bi-monthly sessions using a virtual platform (five sessions)
  • Submit a case to present to the group and engage in interactive discussions
  • Collaborate with the expert team in providing recommendations
  • Work with seasoned and newer members of the series in a collaborative environment

Participation Requirements

  • Complete Orientation – see details below
  • A front facing camera/smart phone
  • Commit to attending all ECHO RUBI sessions
  • Complete online pre- and post- surveys
  • Start a RUBI case during the series

*Will provide an overview of the RUBI parent training curriculum, an approach to selecting a child for RUBI as well as management of the case for the duration of this ECHO series. After completing the orientation, participants will continue the RUBI series (one-hour sessions) to learn how to use the RUBI curriculum with fidelity and flexibility to engage families appropriately.

Participants are encouraged to purchase the RUBI manual prior to the first session.
