Media Inquiries

Nationwide Children’s Hospital's media relations team welcomes the opportunity to schedule interviews, locate expert spokespersons, forward news releases, provide up-to-date information and answer questions. It is our goal to assist the media with pediatric health information requests as promptly and efficiently as possible.

Releasing Patient Information

In keeping with federal HIPAA regulations, no information regarding patients may be released unless parental/guardian consent is given. Journalists may contact our team and we will work on your behalf to obtain consent.

Interviews

Our media relations policy exists to expedite all media inquiries. Please refer to the following guidelines before you contact our department to schedule interviews or videotaping/photo sessions.

Members of the media must schedule all on-site and phone interviews through the media relations team. Please be assured that we will do everything we can to arrange interviews, however, patient care is our first priority.

While on the campus of Nationwide Children's Hospital, a media relations staff member must escort members of the media at all times to assure the security and privacy of our patients and families. All parents or guardians of patients under 18 must sign a consent form before a patient may be videotaped, photographed or interviewed. Patients at least 18 years of age may provide consent for themselves.
